Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire and Lundy
Join us for week exploring Milford Haven and the Pembrokeshire coast, or venturing further afield to the Island of Lundy, or round the corner into St |Brides Bay and up to Ramsey Island, with the coastal path nearby for anyone needing to burn off a bit or excess energy at the end of the day.
Pembrokeshire is often described as Cornwall without the crowds, And you can see why, with its stunning coastline, beaches, Islands, inlets and rivers to explore.
Because of its unique location wildlife is everywhere; Dolphins, Seals, Basking sharks and even whales can be seen from the deck of “Edith Gray”; and the bird life especially on the Islands like Skomer and Skokholm are legendary.
The Island of Lundy, the jewel of the Bristol Channel can be reached within 6 hours from Milford Haven if the weather's right. The Island has a great anchorage,
Britains first marine nature reserve is an impressive place. With a picturesque anchorage it's a great destination if you like walking or the outdoors, ...and if you are into climbing or scrambling the routes are endless and the granite first rate; …..there's even a Pub on the Island to finish off the day.
What you can expect from the trip:
Boat handling: Hands on sailing; you will learn to get the most out of a traditional Vessel with Gaff Cutter Rig, in the sheltered waters of the Haven or out into the Bristol Channel or Celtic Sea.
Anchorages: We aim to spend as many nights on anchor as possible. Somewhere special and away from the crowds.
The Great Outdoors: Whether its sailing, walking, swimming, climbing or just relaxing and watching the wildlife, it's great to have some time in the fresh salt air.
As always the trip itinerary will be driven by the weather, but with such a wealth of options and destinations in Pembrokeshire and the Bristol Channel you are sure to have a rich and full experience.
